Our Story
SummitView Christian Church began in 1963 out of a dream to reach the un-churched by establishing a new Christain community in northwest Chicagoland.  With limited capital and a great measure of faith, seven families of devoted followers of Christ went forward with a vision to launch a new church.  In September 1963, our church was born in the gymnasium of Lakeview Elementary School in Hoffman Estates.

For over 40 years now, the people of SummitView have faithfully worked to reach out to people and simply connect them with the love of Christ while a the same time building and encouraging each other to grow into full devotion to Christ.  What origianly started out as more of a neighborhood church has, over the years, developed into a regional church whose reach now extends to all points across the Northwest suburbs of Chicago.

Forty-three years later, we are following in the footsteps of our founders to reach people who are far from God through the launch of our new campus in Algonquin, IL.  With the launch of our second campus in Algonquin, IL (October 2006), SummitView will continue to serve and impact our community as one church meeting in two locations.  We have one vision that drives us, one leadership that guides us, and one budget that resources us.  Our two campuses enable us to expand our reach to more communities by offering the same kind of life-changing, family centered ministry programming with a sense of relational intimacy that has been a hallmark of our church for decades.  At SummitView, you can find the quality experience of a growing church with the intimacy and personal interaction of a church that knows your name.
Our Mission
"To reach and connect people with the love of Christ while building their lives into full devotion to Christ."
Today, the original vision of this church is still thriving.  That vision has kept SummitView firmly committed to helping people find Jesus Christ and grow to full devotion to Him.
The SummitView Statement of Faith summarizes our beliefs as a church. Our theology is not innovative – it’s biblical theology rather than speculative theology or theology rooted in tradition. We try not to be dogmatic about matters on which Bible-based believers have held divergent views. We want our core beliefs to be centered in Christ and His message as found in and supported by the clearest passages of Scripture. More obscure doctrine or teachings with less support are left to individuals to sort out on their own – we take no official position in these areas.  Read More
